State FFA Convention Courtesy Corps
After last year’s state convention, discussion began to circulate about the value of having a Courtesy Corps program. It seemed as if there was little use for the Courtesy Corps members, and their time was not being well utilized while at convention. As we have moved away from certain practices (such as sending Courtesy Corps members across stage as “stand-ins”), the need for them has diminished. Furthermoire, our volunteer program has been strengthened, and many other areas of convention, such as Agriscience Fair and CDEs, rely on working with individual chapters and alumni for help, and do not use the Courtesy Corps. For these reasons, we have decided to eliminate the Courtesy Corps program at convention.
