Hey Ohio FFA!
I hope your all getting pumped for State Convention-its only 3 WEEKS AWAY! Holy cow.
Well I'm sure many of you have been crazy busy prepared and showcasing your fabulous banquets this time of year. And I have fortunately been able to attend a few of them!
Back on the 3rd of April I went to Mt. Vernon and spoke at their banquet where I had a fantastic time seeing some old friends, making some new ones and guessing who was going to win awards. :) (they also had FANTASTIC FOOD!)
Then 2 days later I traveled to Riverside where first year teacher, Jody Carney, put on a fabulous show and even filled me up with such good food I could barely get behind my steering wheel to drive home. There I also got to see some pretty sweet members that I had got to know while doing a chapter visit there and we had a really good time! The whole program was zero waste (which is freaking sweet) and the plates, silverware and cups were all recyclable. Isn't that awesome?!? I sure thought it was a fantastic banquet and everything went perfect.
The week after that (after a midterm some tests and some rain) I head on up to Wynford a nifty school (they make their own maple syrup) that has some awesome traditions. Unfortunately on the way up there I got terribly and awfully lost. Only me right? Thats what I was thinking too. Eventually I got there and luckily everyone was just finishing eating I had time to grab some food (really really good food mmmmm and talked to Erica some too) in the awesomely decorated cafeteria and then we moved into the auditorium (also decorated) and began the banquet. We started off with an AWESOME entrance of the officers on tractors-how sweet is that? I was so pumped :) We got the program (I sat by a Mr. Tate who kept me laughing) started and ran through it with a breeze with some really neat stories (especially Jason and Mandy's and another with Jason and Tyler) in between and then we got to the pie auction-yes I said it --pie auction!!! We had a real auctioneer and Allison and I went out in the crowd to be callers (which was so much fun) and we were later joined by the other officers. One pie went for almost $300!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy Cow. The whole night was so much fun, and I was laughing thinking about stuff all the way home.
P.S. Allison and I are going out to Hollywood to The Price is Right to become Barker's Babes :)
Even after these three it just didn't seem like I could go much longer without eating some more great food so I headed back to Champaign County (Whoop!) to Southeastern. The program was great and there was fantastic pork loin and I spent some great time with the officers as they ended their year.
Wow, just talking about all this great food is making me hungry sitting at my desk-so I think I'll run off to the commons and grab some food that is NOT EVEN CLOSE to how good the food at these banquets were :)
Thank you all to had me to their schools-I really had a blast, and I hope to see you all at CONVENTION!!!!!!!!
Later taters, (mmmm taters sound good haha. )

Hello Ohio FFA!
I hope you aren't freezing, but there is a very good chance that you are, since it is horribly and terribly cold outside. Ewww. Here at The Ohio State University though I have to walk to all my classes, so be glad you don't have to do that :).
Well, as many of you are aware last week was FFA Week!! My favorite week of the year of course!
I have the awesome chance to visit Delphos and I must say we pretty much had a blast all day. Mr. Elwin and Mrs. Bambauer really do have a great group of FFA members there-who kicked butt it all of my workshops. THANK YOU!
Since many of you got to be out of school most of the week, I'm sure you all had snowdays, and since I don't have class on Fridays I thought I would head back to the Burg and spend a nice relaxing weekend on the couch. Little did I know, it snowed like crazy and then iced so the next day my brother and I had a massive ice fight, and we were only minimally injured. Thats what I call a good day :).
Alright, well I'm off to bed. I have lab in the morning at 8 am. Eww...
Stay warm and cozy!

Hello Ohio FFA!
Hope things are going well. I also hope you weren't blown away by the crazy wind gusts today. I really should be studying for my Soils test, but I thought I would procrastinate a little more and make sure I kept all of you up to date on my where-abouts.
Well right now I'm in my dorm room. But last SATURDAY I was at an awesome leadership event. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about....MFE/ALD!
We (the state officers) started off the weekend practices our speeches together (and they are great!) We are going to be absolutely ready to give these speeches at the drop of a hat! So let us know, we are willing and waiting.
Anyway, back on track. I had the pleasure of sitting in the Pavilion (glorified tent) and attending the ALD conference. National FFA came in (Beth, Monica & Brandon) and did a fabulous job illustrating game shows (the best topic EVER), But I think what made the weekend great was all the FFA members I got to see over the weekend. I was able to see some of the members of chapters that I had visited, some that I had not, and some that I had never heard of. All in all it was a bomb to meet all of you!
My table was very interesting, and by interesting I mean awesome. I had the pleasure of sitting with two of the officers from Fredericktown (Corey and Scott), Amy Jo from Miami Trace, and three very lively men from Anthony Wayne (Casey, Brain (who has I funny nickname I won't mention, and Nick). We had a great time in the workshop, we laughed, we cried (well actually Nick was the only one who cried) and had a great team name. In a nutshell, we had the best table, hands down.
On Saturday night we had a dance and we got to strut our stuff on the dance floor. I think crowd participation was great and we all got to witness Tyler Church try to do the Soldier Boy dance.
(something that has been burned into my brain, hehe)
The weekend was a giant success and to top it all off we got bracelets and key chains! What more could you ask for???
Well, I'm off to study-keep up the great work Ohio FFA.
Can't wait to see all of you soon!

Heyo!!!
I hope everyone's holidays were fantastic! Mine was great, we made cookies, trimmed our tree (with popcorn no less!) and my brother and I had a pretty awesome snowball fight. I got a fantastic Columbia jacket for Christmas and I love it! I've been walking all over campus in it. (because it is really cold!!)
I didn't travel very much in December but I did go to the wonderful D6 school of Southeastern!
We had a really good time even though the room got a little cold. :) The sophomore class and I had a super great time in the shop yelling "MARSHMALLOW" !!! All in all, I had a great day and was so excited to meet some more awesome D6ers, which by the way D6 peeps are the best FFA members in the United States.
Have fun in the snow! Keep those gloves close! And don't forget to wash your car ALOT!

Waterford Leadership Night.
November 20, 2007 11:46 PM
Hey-ooo!!!
I just returned home from a fantastic evening! Where could I have possibly been? D-10 of course! Waterford to be specific. We started off the evening with a long drive from Cbus, and I met Jodi in Lancaster (which by the way has amazing places to eat!). From there onto Waterford!
We got there a bit late (because we got lost), but we made it just in time and started off with a bang by making some super sweet leaders (come to a leadership night and find out what I mean!)
We go through all the breakout sessions and then had Jukebox pizza, which is extremely good. I got to spend some time talking to some sweet peeps (Vincent, Levi, and Luke) over pizza and then Jodi and I headed back out on our adventure home. I had such a great time-you D-10ers sure know how to have a good time!!
Night Night.
Eat lots of turkey!!!
