Back to school!!
January 10, 2008 12:30 PM
Well, this was my first week back at college. I had a wonderful time on break and didn't want to come back. However, I really love Wittenberg and I was excited to see my roommate and talk to her. This semester I have German, English, and Social Ethics. All of my classes are really cool and I like all of my professors, which is a good thing. So, hopefully this semester will go as well as last!
This weekend is MFE/ALD and I can't wait to see our Ohio FFA members. I am looking forward to great sessions and meeting even more FFA members.
Well, I have to go study,
Kelly
No White Christmas
January 2, 2008 10:20 AM
I hope everyone is staying warm and enjoying all of their gifts they received from Christmas. I had a wonderful holiday break, but unfortunately have to go back on Monday, January 7th. But, I will be happy to see my roommate and talk to all of my friends about what we did over break. As you know this year we did not get a white Christmas, but, now it is snowing.
December was a month in which I finally had time to just relax and enjoy my family. I am happy to report that I passed all of my classes!!! I also went to the Western Brown FFA Greenhand and Chapter degree ceremony in which I got the privilege of speaking to the chapter. I also got to see my fellow officer Anna since Western Brown is her home chapter. I had a really good time and enjoyed meeting some of the members. Thank you for inviting me!
When I went back home I helped my home chapter, Edgewood/Butler Tech with their Blue Christmas program. I got to shop for needy families and then wrap and deliver gifts and food to the families in need throughout our community. The chapter was able to help 16 families and rose over $6,000. It was a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer.
So, now it is 2008!! This means that we all have resolutions to make. My resolution is to meet new people and take every opportunity that comes my way. I hope that 2008 not only goes well for me but to all of you as well.

Busy November!!!
November 29, 2007 9:00 AM
November is my birthday month, so it is my favorite month of the year. However, this year November has been really eventful. At the beginning of the month I went to the Miami Trace Leadership Night and had a great time. Gus Bonham, who shows sheep with me, was there, so I got to talk to him and see how things were going. Then I had my birthday and turned 19. The night of my birthday was the Edgewood/Butler Tech Lock-in. That is my home chapter, so I visited for a few hours and talked to the members. When I was ready to leave they brought out a cake that said "happy birthday" on it. I love my chapter!!
On November the 26th I went to Miami East to attend and speak at their Greenhand Ceremony. I got to talk to Hannah Long, who went to Europe on the same trip I did. I also got to talk to all of the officers and members who know Tyler Church, so I have some dirt on him now. Mrs. Carity was as energetic as ever trying to keep the greenhands from eating the cake before the meeting even started. I would like to thank the entire Miami East FFA Chapter for inviting me. I had a wonderful time and felt right at home. I also want to thank all of you for the t-shirt. I will be wearing it around campus!
On November 27th I had a chapter visit with the Warren Co. CC Chapter. Mrs. Schmidt's Animal Care and Management classes are at the Lebanon Human Association. So, I got to see all of their class animals. I presented my workshop to the junior class, which has five girls with the name Brittany in it!!! I had a great time at my visit and would like to thank all of the members and Mrs. Schmidt for letting me come and present.
Well, that about sums up my busy, but fun month of November. We only have a few more weeks until Winter Beak!!!!!!

On the open road
October 18, 2007 6:00 PM
I have been really busy this week and although I had to get up early I enjoyed my visits. My first stop was on Monday, the 15th of October, where I had a chapter visit with the Fairfield FFA Chapter in Leesburg. I spent the whole day there and got to meet a lot of the members. I had fun presenting to all of the classes and I got to meet the school dog, "Rose", who likes to lie in the parking lot, especially under vehicles. I would like to thank Mr. Unger, Mrs. Mullins, and the members for allowing me to visit their chapter.
The next day I visited the Greene County CC FFA Chapter with Mr. Spahr and Mr. Sproull. While I was there I got to watch and talk to the members as they worked on their power mechanics projects. I also got to watch a video on cam shafts. Mr. Spahr gave me a tour of their Ag facility and I got to meet some other teachers in the building. I would like to thank the members of the Greene Co. CC FFA chapter for being so enthusiastic during my presentation. I would also like to thank Mr. Sproull and Mr. Spahr for allowing me to come and visit with their chapter and for buying me lunch.
And on the third day I traveled back down to Butler County to speak at the Ross/Butler Tech FFA Greenhand Degree Ceremony. I gave my speech on “the door of opportunities that FFA places in front of us”. I also got to hand out the greenhand degree pins to the members. I would like to applaud the Ross/ Butler Tech FFA Chapter officers for doing such a great job presenting the banquet and to all of the members who received their Greenhand degree. Way to go!! I would also like to thank Mr. Korb for inviting me to the banquet.
Well, I had a really busy, but fun week. I would like to again thank all of the chapters for allowing me to visit with them and I wish them the best of luck this year.
Hope to see you all at National Convention!!

Beyond Expectations
October 2, 2007 4:09 PM
Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the wonderful fall weather!! Last Friday I went to my first chapter visit, which happened to be Butler Tech Natural Science Center. I was very excited and nervous, however there was no need. I got to meet the juniors in the Animal Management and the Equine Science classes. Both classes were very enthusiastic and were very welcoming. Mr. Spoerl and Ms. Beck were also very helpful. I had a great time and I think that both classes found my workshop on attitude to be very interesting and helpful. I can't wait to go to my next visit!!!
Take care,
Kelly
