Busy Week
February 24, 2008 9:44 AM

Hey everyone! I would just like to inform you all that I just did my last chapter visit last Tuesday at Delta, but let's start from the beginning. Two Fridays ago I found myself at the Sylvania Southview FFA chapter! What a great school! This school is a very unique one, because it is all Horticultural based, which is jam-packed full of great activities. They were just finishing up selling waxed roses for Valentine's Day, which I thought was kind of cool! Ms. Cummins and Mr. Fredrick are some pretty amazing teachers that keep the classroom busy all the time. So after my visit at Southview I got to relax a little bit for the rest of the weekend back at home! Then on Sunday it was off to drive 2 1/2 hours to school for classes all day on Monday, then after a Chemistry test which didn't get over till 8:35p.m. I hit the road again to be home on Tuesday morning for my last chapter visit at Delta. It was kind of sad that this was my last chapter visit, but it was a fun time. It was right in the middle of FFA week, so everyone was telling me their plans of what they had going on that week. Also, I would like to say good luck to Mr. Yant and all the others that maybe competing at State Wrestling this weekend! :) After a good visit I hit the road again and found myself driving another 2 1/2 hours back to school for Wednesday classes and to get a speech ready for Four County. On Wednesday I celebrated my 19th birthday at school and on the road at home and outside watching the eclipse. It was a good birthday, and after that on Thursday morning I visited Four County to help them celebrate FFA week with their breakfast. I got to meet some amazing FFA members from Bryan and share some of my thoughts with the Four County administration. After breakfast was over I made my way back to my lovely home and did some catching up with some homework and did a little relaxing! Friday I drove back to school again, bummer, for Friday classes. Although I did something totally amazing on Saturday, I went to Snow Trails in Mansfield! It was so much fun! My roommates and I got to go down this massive slope at about what seemed 80mph! It was the best time ever! I suggest everyone go sometime!
I hope everyone had a great week and I hope I get to talk to you all very soon!

January
January 29, 2008 2:31 PM

Well, since the last time I left you all, which was October, I have been really busy. In October the State Officers went to National Convention. What a blast! I don't think I have ever had that much fun!
November, was busy with chapter visits, especially one with Dusty Wusty Poo(Dustin) at Oak Harbor. What a great chapter full of great member!
December brought four chapter visits and one Leadership Night at Pettisville. My chapter visits consisted of visits at: Edon, Four County, Whitmer, and Otsego. Talk about busy, but I had a blast. I really got to know a lot of the members on a more personal basis, especially with the name cards when everyone identified their goals or interests. Keep going strong with your goals; you will never know that you can succeed until you try.
January flew by! Two Fridays ago I went Ayersville. Great school, I didn't know they had a pool! Also, thanks Chris for the tour, your a great tour guide. The Ayersville visit brought me many laughs and some great memories that I will never forget!
Last Friday, I visited Evergreen. First I went and talked to the Evergreen Officer Team first for about an hour. We discussed some of the problems that FFA Chapters encounter today with getting members involved especially on the block schedule. We discussed how to improve other activities that can get directed to more people therefore getting more people involved. The visit itself went really well. I got to talk about camp for a little bit, which is something that I don't get to do very much so I really enjoyed that. I also enjoyed getting to know more of the members by discussing some of their personal goals. Keep going everyone; you will all do great things!
Well, I think I am going to take a break for a little bit with Chapter Visits until February 15th. Have a great week everyone!
Keep on keeping' on,
Katie L. Miller

Home Visit
October 2, 2007 10:33 PM

Well, last Friday I had my first chapter visit, well sort of. I went to my home chapter, which is Archbold, and did a visit there with the freshman. The freshman where amazing, and could not have asked for a better class to learn from, for the first time. I learned a lot from this visit, and hopefully it will only improve all of my other visits to come!
School is going good. I'm learning to find the balance between, hanging out with my friends, homework, class, and getting ready for chapter visits. It's a lot of work, but I really enjoy spending time getting ready for all of the visits, plus my roommates help me color flip charts so it is a good time! :)
On Friday I get to skip all of my classes because I have a chapter visit at Fayette! I will be driving home on Thursday night, and hopefully will get home in time to watch Grey's Anatomy! Man, I love that show!
So, I guess I will see the great members of the Fayette chapter on Friday and will hopefully get to meet a whole bunch of you soon!
Staying Busy,
Kate

College
September 17, 2007 12:11 PM

Well, I finally got myself all moved into college. It was one crazy day trying to get all organized and unpack and everything. The good thing is Allen lives only a few doors down so anytime he gets hungry for some brownies and cookies he comes over! :) Just thought I would let you all know how everything is going and I can't wait to see some of you while I'm out doing chapter visits.

Henry Co. Fair
August 17, 2007 3:43 PM

Well, this year's fair went like it normally does, but instead I had more fun watching and competing with all of Henry County's FFA members! I had a blast at fair this year thanks to some of you members. I hope to see you all soon and have a great summer and good luck in school or whatever you are all doing this fall.

P.S. Holgate, Patrick Henry, and Liberty Center FFA Chapters are AWESOME!! :)
